Betty Ann Massengill Morrell, 85, 700 Elizabethton Hwy. 19E, Bluff City died Wednesday, March 19, 2008 at the Life Care Center of Elizabethton following a brief illness. A native of Bluff City, she was a daughter of the late George E. and Margaret Plank Massengill. Mrs. Morrell was a member of the First Christian Church of Bluff City, and she was an avid gardener.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James A. Morrell and three sisters, Mabel Southwick, Margaret Rutter and Irene Wagner. Survivors include four sons, Tony E. Morrell & wife Dimple, Jeffrey D. Morrell, Michael L. Morrell all of Bluff City and Jerry W. Morrell and wife Sherry of Elizabethton; nine grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren; and two sisters, Georgia Warren of Bluff City and Edith Quinn of Knoxville.

The funeral service for Mrs. Morrell will be conducted at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, March 22, 2008 at Tetrick Funeral Home, Bluff City Chapel with Mr. Tim Carlson and Mr. Jim Miller, ministers officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:00 - 2:00 P.M. prior to the service in the chapel of Tetrick Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Morrell Cemetery.
