Louis H. Bandow (1899 - 1969)
Louis H. Bandow, son of Albert and Frieda (Yaeger) Bandow, was born in East Boyer Township, Crawford County, on Feb. 19 1899. He was baptized in infancy and affiliated with the Zion Lutheran Church at Denison by the rite of Confirmation on March 28, 1915. He held membership in this church at the time of his death having been a member of the voting assembly of the congregation for many years.

He was married to Milda Miller on August 17, 1922 and to this marriage six children were born. After their marriage they lived on farms in Crawford County with the exception of two years spent at Howard, Iowa. He passed away at his home on May 7 (1969) at the age of seventy years, two months and eighteen days.

His funeral service was held at Zion Lutheran Church on May 10 with the Rev. Carl W. Schmidt in charge of the service. Hymns were sung by the Lutheran Ladies Choir with Mrs. Fred Rabe serving as organist. Interment was made in the Nishnabotna cemetery in Manilla with the following serving as pallbearers: John Steckelberg, Carl Segebart, Charles Segebart, Lewis Bell, Robert Bell and Harvey Neumann.

Surviving are his widow; the following children: Melvin Bandow of Manilla; Mrs. Berdine Petersen of Ida Grove; Irwin Bandow of Estherville; Edwin Bandow of Manilla; Mrs. Virgine Ohl of Denison and Mrs. Georgine Dievertsen of Omaha, Nebr.; nineteen grandchildren and one brother Herbert Bandow of Manilla. Preceding him in death were two brothers: Carl and Irwin and one sister, Hertha Lapel.
