She was received into God's Kingdom of Grace through the Sacrament of Holy Baptism at Zion Lutheran Church, Denison, Iowa, September 13, 1931, and confirmed in her Christian Faith there March 30, 1947. Raised in Manilla, she received her education in the Manilla schools, where before graduating with the class of 1950, she was a star on their State Tournament Basketball Teams.
