Fred M. Gumm was born August 1, 1875 at
Bigelow, Kansas and passed away July 4,1963
at Marysville, Kansas. He had attained the
age of 87 years 11 months and 3 days. He
was the youngest of 5 sons born to John B.
and Mary E. Gumm.

On February 26, 1896 he was married to
Anna Rinehart and this marriage lasted
61 years. They were the parents of seven
children.

In early youth, he joined the Christian
Church living his life by the Golden Rule.

Fred was a hard working man farming most
of this time in and around this community.

He suffered a stroke on Christmas Day 1957
and was confined to a wheel chair for the
past 4 years.

His son Elmer passed away in 1931 and his
wife died in 1957. He leaves to mourn his
passing the following children, Mrs. Julia
Harland, Frankfort, Kansas, Mrs. Alta Harry
and Ethel Gumm, Marysville, Kansas, Mrs.
Edith Gibson, Topeka, Kansas, William
Gumm, Prairie Village and Robert Gumm
Mankato, Kansas; 17 grandchildren and 30
great grandchildren and 5 great great grand-
children, nieces and nephews, friends and
neighbors.

Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon
July 6, 1963 at the Padden Chapel in Frank-
fort, Kansas with Reverend Coyne Gifford.

Burial was in the Antioch Cemetery,
southwest of Frankfort, Kansas.

Casket bearers were Downer Tyler, Bob
Millgate, Charles Walls, Emmett Hale, Carl
Samuelson and Alex Sabin.
