LONA SAMPSON SMITH
Mrs Lona Sampson Smith, 71, of Mt. Zion in Calhoun County, died Wednesday at the Calhoun General Hospital at Grantsville following an extended illness.
She was born ( 04 July 1898 ) at Mt. Zion, daughter of the late Preston and Elizabeth Carpenter Sampson. She was a member of the Mt. Zion United Methodist Church.
Survivors include three sons, Hobert and Delbert of Barberton, O., Donald of Cleveland, O.; eight daughters, Mrs Idean Kaluza, Mrs Devolda Walker and Mrs Zoma Rogers, all of Barmadge, O., Mrs Melva * Meredherton , Mrs Alma Bell Tallmadge, O., Mrs Betty McCoy, Mrs Erma Schoolcraft, of Akron, O., Mrs Pearl **Shemer of California; two brothers, Ferrell and William both of Mt. Zion; 24 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.
