The not unexpected has happened.
John Van Sickle, who a month or so ago
packed his goods in a car preparatory to
moving to Missouri, and was taken
violently sick in the midst of it, has lingered
till now, slowly growing weaker until
the end, Wednesday afternoon March 28.

John Van Sickle was born near Steubenville,
Ohio, in 1837. He came to this
county in 1867, settling on the farm in
Center, where he lived and prospered a
good many years, retiring from the farm
and moving into this city in 1897. He
was the father of nineteen children, ten
by his first wife, who died in 1880, and
nine by his second wife, who survives him.

Mr. Van Sickle was an upright man
and a good citizen, respected by all who
knew him.
Funeral services this afternoon a t t he
M. E. church.
