Rites Held for Segra Anderson, 82
Memorial services for Segra Anderson, 82, of Massena, were held Saturday, January 8, 1994 at 2:00 p.m. at the Steen Funeral Home in Massena. She passed away January 3 at the Atlantic Care Center.
Officiating at the service was the Rev. Robert D. Foster. Music was provided by Mrs. Patti Hensley, organist. DeLoy Cannon and DeLaine Erickson were in charge of flowers. Interment was in the Massena Center Cemetery. Steen Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Segra Anderson was born July 18, 1911 to Frank Gustav and Sophia Dorothea Brown Anderson in Cass County, Iowa.
Segra lived most of her lifetime in Massena. She was a homemaker and had helped and worked for others in that area. Gardening was her favorite pastime and she especially enjoyed her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one grandson, Richard Murray; and four sisters: Lillie Nichols, Gladys Shrauger, Esther Hoover, and Frances Bickel.
She is survived by her daughter, Norma Jean Murray and husband, Ronald of Massena; one grandson, Steven Murray and wife Laurie of Wichita Falls, Texas; three great-grandchildren: Aaron and Andrea Murray of Wichita Falls, Texas and Nicole Murray; one brother, Adolph Anderson and wife, Lillie of Massena; one sister, Fern Curry of Massena; other relatives and friends.
