Mrs. Jerome Burt, whose death occurred Tuesday of last week, was buried Friday in the Harrison cemetery. Funeral rites were conducted at the M.E. Church Friday afternoon by the Rev. G. R. McDowell.
Mrs. Burt had passed her 61st birthday, having been born Electa Jane Shevely (Shively) at Luverne, Minnesota, October 6, 1873. At the age of 17 she moved with her parents to Wadena County, Minnesota. November 19, 1893, she was married to Jerome Burt, and the couple farmed in Minnesota till 1916, when they moved to their farm northeast of Swea City.
Active in social and church affairs for a number of years, Mrs. Burt was compelled some four years ago to lessen such activity by reason of her health. A trip to southern California was made last winter for her benefit.
She is survived by Mr. Burt and a son, Vernon.
