His death Sunday at midnight followed an illness of several months. His was bedfast during the last month.
Mr. Burt has been a resident of this community since 1917. His farm northeast of Swea City was the center of extensive stock raising in which business he was highly successful. His social interests centered largely around the Methodist Episcopal church in Swea City where he was a regular attendant.
Mr. Burt was a native Iowan, having been born in Wright County January 17, 1871. In 1883 he became a resident of Wadena county, Minnesota. His marriage to Electa Shively of Park Rapids, Minnesota, took place November 19, 1893. Mrs. Burt died in June of this year.
He is survived by one son, Vernon, who is in charge of the home farm.
Four brothers are living, Enos of Boulder, Montana; Chauncey of Park Rapids, Minnesota; Ray of Kalispell, Montana; Arthur of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. One sister, Clara J. Towns lives in Albany, Wisconsin.
