Published in The Peoria Journal Star, Weds, Mar 8, 1967: Mrs. Urith Gregory, 55, of 1412 S. Faraday St. was found in the basement of her home by her husband, Richard.

Peoria County Coroner Horace Payton pronunced the woman dead by 4:10 p.m. He will set an inquest.

She was born July 23, 1911, in Cairo, a daughter of Charles and Ada Hayden Cowan. She married Richard H. Gregory in Peoria June 20, 1958.

Surviving in addition to her husband are: her mother of Mason City; one daughter, Mrs. Gilbert (Dana) Powell of Bellevue; two sons, David Wood of Bartonville; and Dale Wood of Bellevue; one brother, Charles Cowan of Venice, Fla.; four sisters, Mrs. Ada Conrady of Mason City, Mrs. Charlene Bagby of Peoria, Mrs. Ruby Goeken of Fort Byers, Fla.; and Mrs. Nita Morse of Manito; and 10 grandchildren.

She was a sales clerk, last working in 1959. A 32-year resident of Peoria she was a member of Howlett Street Christian Church.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at the Davison Funeral Home with the Rev. L. Scott Huson officiating. Friends may cll at the funeral home from 6 to 9 p.m. tomorrow. Burial will be in Glendale Memorial Gardens, Pekin.
