Henry Kastendieck died Wednesday at age 81 years
Mr. Henry W. Kastendieck died Wednesday at his home in Westcliffe after a year long illness. He was born Sept. 5, 1896 and was 81. Survivors include his wife, Ethel; sons Chester H. Kastendieck of Westcliffe and Charles M. Kastendieck of Silver Cliff; two brothers, August Kastendieck of Grand Junction and Melbourne Kastendieck of Canon City; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. One grandchild preceded him in death. Services will be 10:30 am Saturday at Hope Lutheran Church in Westcliffe with burial at Ula Cemetery, Westcliffe. Menzel Funeral Home is in charge.

Henry Kastendieck
Funeral services were held Jan. 28 for Henry William Kastendieck, lat of Westcliffe. He died her Jan. 25 following a lengthy illness. Services were held at the Hope Lutheran church with the Rev. Armin Stolp of Monte Vista officiating. Pallbearers were grandsons, Richards, Michael and Dwight Kastendieck and Fred Berry, Jerry ??? and Jay Cress. Kastendieck was born Sept. 5, 1890 in Custer County. He attended the Lutheran shcool and Willows grade school. He was a rancher in the Wet Mountain Valley most of his life, retiring and moving to Westcliffe, five years ago. On March 20, 1918, he and Ethel Adelaide Hamlin were married. In addition to this widow, he is survived by two sons, Chester Henry of Westcliffe and Charles Melvin of Silver Cliffe. Also surviving are two brothers August Kastendieck of Grand Junction and melbourne Kastendieck of Canon City. Burial was at the ula Cemetery with the Menzel Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
