Mrs. DORA ISABELLE POFFENBERGER, 79, widow of Allen Luther Poffenberger of 1114 East Main St., Sharpsburg, died Wednesday morning at the Washington County Hospital after a long illness. She was the daughter of James A. and Abigail Hines Earley of Sharpsburg and was a member of Trinity Memorial Lutheran Church of Sharpsburg. Also a member of Lutheran Church Women, Areme Chapter No. 58, Order of the Eastern Star, Women's Auxiliary of Sharpsburg Volunteer Fire Company, Women;s Democratic Club of Sharpsburg.

She is survived by daughter, Mrs. Byron S. Hoffman of Hagerstown; son, Allen E. of Hagerstown; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Services were held at the Leaf Funeral Home, Sharpsburg; burial was in Mountain View Cemetery, Sharpsburg.

Mrs. James Early died at her home in Sharpsburg, yesterday morning at 6 o'clock of blood poisoning, aged 65 years. She was well known in that community. Besides her husband she is survived by five children, four sons, Robert, Shepherdstown; Cleveland, near Sharpsburg; Ralph, at Sharpsburg; and Ellsworth, at home; one daughter, Mrs. Dora Poffenberger, Sharpsburg; one brother, George W. Rohrer, this city; three sisters, Mrs. Molly Cox, Baltimore; Mrs. William Brashears, Highspire, Pa., and Mrs. E.R. Hill, Shepherdstown. Funeral Sunday afternoon; services at the house by Rev. A.A. Kerlin; interment was in Mountain View Cemetery.
