Gordon Larson was born in Douglas, North Dakota on November 19, 1918 to Lewis J. and Gertrude Larson. He attended Douglas High School and Minot State College. He graduated in 1940 with a teaching degree and taught in a rural North Dakota school for a year and a half before moving to Seattle to work at Boeing during World War II.
After WWII ended, he returned to teaching in North Dakota. In Hattan he met his future wife, Eleanora DeKrey whom he married on 31 May 1947 near Pettibone, North Dakota. Later that year the couple moved out to Portland, Oregon. At the time of his death, Gordon had lived in the West Linn area for 24 years. He operated a locksmith business but retired in 1975 because of ill health. He also had worked for the Lake Oswego and Milwaukie school districts for a number of years. He was a member of Pacific Locksmith's Association, the Oregon City Odd Fellows Lodge and attended West Linn Lutheran Church.
He is survived by his widow, Eleanora; two sons, Howard Larson of Portland and Rob Larson attending Oregon State University in Corvallis; two daughters, Linda Nicholson of Richland, Washington, and Ellen Johnson of Salem; two brothers, Glen Larson of North Dakota and Lyle Larson of Seattle, Wash.; two sisters, Bernice Snowbeck of Blair, Nebraska and LaVerne Bowen of Everett, Washington; one granddaughter, Erica Larson, and numerous nieces and nephews.
