Mr. Larson was born November 30, 1906, at Douglas, where he was raised and educated. He married Nora Chilson on October 6, 1929, at Voltaire. He was a grain buyer in Grenora in the early 1930s, managed the Farmers elevator in Douglas for 17 years, and owned and operated the Glen J. Larson elevator in Douglas from 1953 until August 1966, when it was destroyed by fire. He then worked for the Atwood Larson Grain Commission Co. until his retirement in 1975. They moved to Garrison in 1985. The Larsons were elected king and queen of the Douglas Diamond Jubilee celebration in July 1981. He was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church and served on the church board and on the Douglas School Board. He was also a member of the International Order of Odd Fellows.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Gail "Spanky" of Garrison and Ivan of Gillette, Wyoming; four daughters, Mrs. Elmer (Cleo) Wagner of Douglas, Joan Varty of Minot, Mrs. Virgil (Mary) Wagner of Olympia, Washington, and Mrs. Thomas (Myra) Trotter of Iron Ridge, Wisconsin; one brother, Lyle of Puyallup, Washington; one sister, Bernice Snowbeck of Blair, Nebraska; 17 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
