He enjoyed anything outdoors whether it was working the ground, hunting, fishing or just enjoying nature. He was a machinist at Olin for many years retiring in 1991, but enjoyed farming more than anything. He and his wife, Martha, were residents of White Hall for more than 45 years where they raised their family, but recently relocated to Jerseyville in 2007.
He married the former Martha Hamm in July of 1962 in Grafton, and together they have shared 50 years of marriage. Surviving are his wife, Martha Kraushaar of Jerseyville; two daughters and sons-in-law, Billie Jo and Pat Parker of Alton, and Tammy and Steve Vuylsteke of St. Louis, Mo.; two grandchildren, Becca and Matt Parker; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
