JOHN MARION-- b' Nov. 19, 1826 in Hardin Co., Ky. To Ill. with family in 1828. m' Jan. 4, 1850 Sarah Fletcher Yocum (b' 1830 in Hardin Co, Ky.) dau. of Ambrose, the 1st Sherriff of Coles Co. (1831-4) and Susan (b' 1800 in Ky.) John managed a prosperous grain business. It is believed that he fought in the Civil War. He d' Jan. 21, 1864--perhaps of the then prevalent and deadly typhoid (as did his 12 year old daughter the previous year) leaving a widow and 7 chn. under 12! Sarah d' ____ in Miami, Florida. They are buried in Charleston Cemetery.
