A coroner's inquest is scheduled in Rock Island County investigating the death of Clarence E. Welch, 74, 208 Walnut St., Muscatine, who died Saturday at Franciscan Hospital.
Mr. Welch was involved in an auto accident in Muscatine County Dec. 4 and had been hospitalized since that time, first at Muscatine General Hospital, and then at Franciscan.
Funeral services will be held at the McGinnis Chapel, Bettendorf, at 1 p.m. Tuesday. Rev. Paul Ruch will officiate.
Visitation will be this evening at the Chapel.
Burial will be at the Greenwood Cemetery in Muscatine.
Mr. Welch was born Jan. 31, 1900 at Atkinson, Ill., son of Edgar and Katherine Sieh Welch.
Mr. Welch married Edna Drossert in Muscatine in 1922, and lived here ever since. He was a retired Muscatine County farmer.
Survivors include one son, Joseph Welch of Davenport; three brothers, Lloyd Welch of Indiana; Samuel Welch of Montana; and Vinion of Bettendorf; three sisters, Mrs. Joseph (Margaret) Fowler, of Bettendorf, Miss Norma Welch of Bettendorf, and Mrs. Joseph (Violet) Endreshak of Davenport; 11 grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.
Mr. Welch was preceded in death by his wife.
