DAVENPORT - Services for Joseph C. Welch, Davenport will be 7 p.m. today at Cunnick-Collins Mortuary, Davenport. Burial will be in Oakdale Memorial Gardens, Davenport. Visitation is 5 p.m. until service time today. Mr. Welch died Thursday, June 13, 2002, at Bettendorf Health Care Center. He retired in 1981 from Oscar Mayer in Davenport after 21 years of employment. He then worked an additional 13 years for the Davenport School District as a school bus driver, retiring in 1994. He was born May 14, 1924, in Muscatine, Iowa. He married Elaine V. Kent in 1945, in Iowa City. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Dialysis Unit at Genesis Medical Center. Survivors include his wife, Elaine, Bettendorf; daughters, Carol Allen, Davenport, Joyce Bettis, Bettendorf, and Sharon Wakeland, Charlotte, N.C.; sons, David and Dennis Welch, both of Bettendorf, Gary Welch, Davenport, Randy Welch, Walcott, Roger Welch, Lowden, and Gary, Ron and Don Welch, all of Davenport; 17 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
