Holzer, Mary nee Basel (also shown as "Anna Marie" and as "Baesle" and "Basil") (Feb. 23, 1868-June 22, 1946 –wife of Joseph Holzer [married Jan. 13, 1890 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Clarks Mills, Town of Cato] –daughter of Joseph Basel and Theresa Augustine –born Town of Franklin –from May 31, 1923 to Dec. 3, 1925 was the owner of the cheese factory at 8701 Glen Flora Road in Section 35, Town of Eaton –as a widow, on Dec. 23, 1938 purchased the house at 320 West Main Street in St. Nazianz –lived in this house until her death in 1946 –on Feb. 18, 1944 sold this house to her son Herman Holzer –died from "chronic myocardial failure –chronic hypertrophic arthritis") –buried at St. Gregory Catholic Cemetery in St. Nazianz, Town of Eaton [buried in Section 2, Row 15, Lot 7 –stone] [marriage record Manitowoc 6-22] [death record Manitowoc 39-406]

MRS. MARY HOLZER DIES AT DAUGHTER'S HOME
Mrs. Mary Holzer, aged 77, passed away Saturday at the home,of her daughter, Mrs. Edwin Schreiber at School Hill, followinga lingering illness.
Mrs. Holzer was born near Whitelaw on Feb. 23, 1869, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Basil. She was married to Joseph Holzer on Feb. 13, 1890. He preceded her in death several years ago.
She is survived by eight ehildren, namely: Alex of Kiel, Henry and Herman of St. Nazianz, Joseph of Sheboygan Falls, Mrs. Ed.(Rose) Hartman of New Holstein, Mrs. Josephine Loritz of Quarry,Mrs. Ed. (Martha) Schreiber of School Hill and Mrs. Philip (Mayme) Hartman of Cato. There are also 30 grandchildren and 9 great—grandchildren; a brother, Carl of Oceanside, Cal., and a sister, Francis Ernst of Milwaukee.
Funeral services were held at St. Gregory's church in St.
Nazianz at 9:30 a. m. Tuesday, with the Rev. Fintan Holzknecht officiating. Burial was made in the adjoining church cemetery.
