GARRATTSVILLE, NY — Glenn W. Saunders, 86, of Garrattsville, died Saturday, Jan. 10, 1998 at his residence.

He was born April 3, 1911 in Gilbertsville, the son of Charles J. and Nellie (Wright) Saunders.

He married Eunice Goodspeed in Gilbertsville on June 10, 1933. They were married for 65 years.

Mr. Saunders was a well-known Butternut Valley dairy farmer and had served in various town offices including assessor, justice of the peace and supervisor for over 20 years. He was a charter member of the Garrattsville Fire Department and a member of the Garrattsville Presbyterian Church.

Glenn is survived by his wife of 65 years, Eunice, of Garrattsville; four children, Doris Lukas and her husband Frank of Jacksonville, Fla., Donald Saunders and his wife Mary, of Eskridge, Kan., Richard Saunders and his wife Lorie of Edmeston and Linda Gartung and her husband Thomas of Barton; 11 grandchildren and several great grandchildren. He was predeceased by a sister, Edna Card and three brothers, Lloyd, Archy and Orla Saunders.

It was Glenn's request that no funeral services or calling hours be held.

Friends are asked to call at the Saunders residence, south of Garrattsville on state Route 51 at their convenience.

Interment will be in the Brookside Cemetery at a later date.

Those who wish may donate to the Garrattsville Emergency Squad in his memory.
