Rites Held for Miss Statie Mack
Funeral services for Miss Statie Mack of Fremont, former Hooper resident, were held Monday afternoon from the Wollmer & Warne funeral home with Rev.
J. Bruce Wylie as clergyman and interment took place in Hooper cemetery.
Mary Statina Mack was born September 18, 1871, at Brooklyn, Iowa, and came to Nebraska with her parents and other members of the family to settle near Wahoo in 1881. Her death occurred at Fremont on Friday November 26, 1943, at the age of 72 years, 2 months and 8 days.
For many years Miss Mack, who was never married, was engaged in doing practical nursing in this community, between cases making her home with her sister, the late Mrs. Grace Cooper.
About 25 years ago she went to Fremont and since that time had been employed as housekeeper in a couple of Fremont homes. She had recently been in failing health and had been hospitalized for several weeks prior to her death.
Close surviving relatives are two brothers, Morton S. Mack of Hooper and James G. Mack of Omaha. Also a number of nephews and nieces.
Music for the services was by Mrs. C. D. Philips and Mrs. Lloyd Heine with Mr. L. A. Peterson as pianist.
Pallbearers were Edward Wagner, J. H. Windhausen, W. A. Lallman, C. O. Hull, J. A. Strese and Edward Stroh.
