Ottilia Beglau was born April 6, 1894 in Kulm, LaMoure county, North Dakota, the fourth of twelve children born to Johannes J. "John" Beglau and Justina (Fischer) Beglau.
Her siblings include; Gustaf Beglau (who died in infancy in North Dakota), Mary Maria (Beglau) Kuest, Frederick Beglau (who died at age 6 years in North Dakota), Otillia "Tillie" (Beglau) Schauer Haas, Jakob B. "Jack" Beglau, Johann Beglau (who died in infancy in North Dakota), Johannes J. "John" Beglau, Reinhold Beglau, David Beglau, Robert Beglau, Soloman Sam Beglau and Benjamin Beglau.
While still a child, her family moved from Kulm, LaMoure county, North Dakota to McIntosh county, North Dakota, livine in township 131-132.
She married Christian J. "Chris" Schauer on January 22, 1920 in Ashley, McIntosh county, North Dakota. He was the son of Jacob Schauer and Catherine (Schwarzwaelder) Schauer.
The young couple followed Ottilia's family, who moved west to Lodi, San Joaquin county, California. They lived here until Christian's death in 1948. They had no children.
At the age of 71 years old, Otillia married Adolph G. Haas on December 23, 1965 in San Joaquin county, California. Adolph was 78 years old. He was the son of Jakob Haas and Barbara (Sattler) Haas.
Otillia passed away June 25, 1989 in Lodi, San Joaquin county, California and was laid to rest June 27, 1989, next to her first husband, in the Cherokee Memorial Park Cemetery in Lodi, San Joaquin county, California.
