Harold Elwood Sprenkle Sr.
Harold Elwood Sprenkle Sr. 87, of Friends Creek Road, Emmitsburg, Md, died Monday, Feb. 19, at the Gettysburg Hospital.
Born Nov. 17, 1902, in Lewisberry, Pa., he was the son of the late Chester Arthur and Hattie Belle Harbaugh Sprenkle. He was predeceased by his wife Kathryn Sprenkle.
He was a member of the Mennonite Church in Steelton, Pa.
Surviving are five children, Shirley Elizabeth Grove of Hagerstown, Md., Harold Elwood Sprenkle Jr. of Vadosta (sic) Ga., Delores Wetzel of Emmitsburg, Md., Connie Marsh of Harrisburg, Pa., and Betty Jane Smith of Huntsville, Ala; 14 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Evelyn Carson of Lewisberry, Pa., and Ethyl Long of New Cumberland, Pa.,; two brothers, Willard Sprenkle and Arthur Sprenkle, both of Harrisburg, Pa.
Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 22, from the Friends Creek Church of God. The Rev. Lloyd Hahn will officiate. Interment will be at the Friends Creek Cemetery.
Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 21, at the Skiles Funeral Home in Emmitsburg, and from 1 to 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 22, at the church.
