Ethel M. Long, 95, formerly of New Cumberland, died Tuesday, Dec. 7, 1999 in Messiah Village, Upper Allen Twp., Mechanicsburg, PA. Born April 15, 1904 in Fountaindale, Adams County, PA she was the daughter of the late Chester A. and Hattie Bell Harbaugh Sprenkle and the widow of Ray P. Long. She was a retired accident analyzer for the state Department of Transportation and a member of Fairview Bethel Church of God, Fairview Township, and Red Land Senior Citizens Center. Mrs. Long is survived by two daughters, Mary E. Bobb of New Cumberland and Celia A. Bailets of East Berlin; a sister, Evelyn Carson of Lewisberry; 13 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. in her church with the Rev. Eugene B. Hockenberry officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Fairview Township. Friends may call Friday from 10 to 11 a.m. at her church. Parthemore Funeral Home and Cremation Services, New Cumberland is handling the arrangements.
