Asher Ronald Richards, 76, formally of Douglassville and Exeter Township, died October 6, 2012, in his residence at Keystone Villa, Blandon, PA, from natural causes.
Born on October 6th, 1936, in Wilkes-Barre, PA, to the late Asher Richards and Emily (Bond) Richards. He was married to Grace W. Richards, of Exeter Township. He is survived by his two devoted daughters, Cynthia L. Miller, wife of James O. Miller, Surf City, NC and Kathleen M. Bracy, wife of Richard S. Bracy, Hamburg, PA. He adored his two grandchildren Allison and Benjamin Bracy.
Mr. Richards was a graduate of Philadelphia College of Pharmacy and Science. He was a pharmacist at Peoples Drug Store, Reading, for 26 years, Pathmark Pharmacy of Exeter Twp for over 20 years and Commmunity Pharmacy of Reading. He was active in the Reading Pharmacy Association. He was a member of the Hiram Masonic Lodge #81 in Phila and a past member of the Reading Hiking Club.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and hiking. Those who knew him enjoyed his keen sense of humor. Many also knew him thru his best dog friend, Buddy. He will be deeply missed.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 11, 2012, at the Henninger Funeral Home 229 North 5th St. Reading, PA 19601. Pastor Nathanael Naugle will officiate.
Friends and family may attend a viewing on Thursday in the funeral home from 9:30 am until the time of the service.
