The Green Book ("Oscar von Kochtitzky and A Search for His Family Origin" privately published by the Family of John S. Kochtitzky, Sr., 1962) says of Frede on pg. 18:
"Returning (from service with the Union in the Civil War), he (Oscar) at once turned his attention to farming. Grandfather Shidler had been persuaded to buy a store at Moultry, a small town on the railroad about four miles east of his home place. Being anxious to move there, Father rented the farm. It was here that their sixth child, Alfred William, was born on March 15, 1865, and died August 20, 1865.
