She was born Dec. 27, 1947, in St Joseph, the daughter of Wallace and Paulene McQueen, who preceded her in death. Phyllis attended Benton High School. She married Raymond Mullins on April 11, 1966. She was employed by the Western Diagnostic Correctional Center as a corrections officer.
She was very active in the PTA and her children's activities, as well as other community activities. Phyllis had a love for camping, crafts, and spending time with her eight grandchildren. Phyllis was a warm, loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She had a great sense of humor and will be missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by husband, Raymond Mullins of the home; children, Janice (Wayne) Cogdill of Clinton, Mo., Renea Belt of Kearney, Mo., Jackie (Josh) Hannah of Bolckow, Mo., Brenda (Travis) Clark of Gladstone, Mo., Jeff Mullins (Erica) of Savannah; eight grandchildren; six brothers and three sisters. She was also preceded in death by one sister and one brother.
Services will be conducted Saturday at 2 p.m. June 6 at Rupp Funeral Home with Pastor Alan Ferguson officiating. Mrs. Mullins will be cremated after the funeral service. Inurnment will be at a later date at the Savannah Cemetery." St Joseph News-Press, June 4, 2009
