Mrs. Petranella Kasparek
Mrs. Petranella Kasparek was born in Moravia May 30, 1845; died in David City March 28, 1910, at the age of 64 years, 10 months, 28 days. She came to Butler County 35 years ago, lived on a farm two years, then moved to David City, where she has resided the past 33 years. She leaves seven children: Mrs. Joseph Shramek of David City, Nebr.; Amalia Knadle, Los Angeles, Cali.; Joseph Kasparek, Oklahoma City, Okla.; John Kasparek, Albion, Nebr.; Ed Kasparek, Bloomington, Nebr.; and Frank Kasparek of David City.
Just with the awakening of a new day she departed this life. Surely a most fitting time for a pure spirit to take its flight heavenward. After a long and busy life she died as she had lived - honored, trusted and loved. Disease did not destroy the charm of a kind, indulgent disposition, nor increasing age diminish the unselfish solicitude for her loved ones. The three daughters and four sons will remember her as a kind and devoted mother.
The funeral services were held at St. Mary's Catholic Church in David City at 10 a.m. March 30; Raphael [Requiem] High Mass by Rev. Father Caraher, Rev. Father Hennessy and Rev. Father Zalud. After the impressive funeral services the remains were tenderly conveyed to the Catholic cemetery for interment.
