FRANKLIN SWAIN, a well known resident of Sharpsburg, was found dead in bed at 7 o'clock Friday a.m. by his wife. He had been dead for several hours. Death was due to a stroke of paralysis. Mr. Swain was paralyzed 13 years ago and had been an invalid since and was only able to go about in a wheelchair.
He had formerly been a boatman on the canal and was a member of the Lutheran church.
He is survived by his wife and several sons and daughters.
Funeral Sunday at 4 o'clock; interment in Mountain View Cemetery.
