Lonne Ray Shullaw, 72, of rural Eddyville, died Oct. 4, 2012, at the Monroe County Hospital under the care of Hospice of Monroe County.

He was born Jan. 15, 1940, in Ottumwa to Reichert and Edith Nichols Shullaw. He married Betty Holliday Dec. 22, 1962, in Ottumwa, and they were blessed with three children, Sandy, Doug and Allen.

He graduated from Ottumwa High School, class of 1959. He enlisted with the U.S.Army. He worked for General Motors Acceptance Corporation as a credit supervisor until his retirement in 1993. He then worked for ferrellgas and Albia Motor Company. He was a member of Plymouth Congregational Church. He enjoyed camping and fishing and was an avid sports fan, especially the Nebraska Cornhuskers.

He is survived by his wife, Betty of rural Eddyville; children, Sandy Omeila of Lincoln, Neb., Doug(Kris)Shullaw of Decorah and Allen Shullaw of rural Eddyville; siblings, Nancy(Leo)Benal of Lake City, Texas, Jerry(Carol)Shullaw of Doniphan, Neb., Arthur(Ellen)Shullaw of Crescent City, Calif., David(Irene)Shullaw of Arkansas, Kan., Raymond(Anita)Shullaw of Texas and Michael(Jane)Shullaw of Lincoln, Neb.; 11 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and one stepgreat-grandson.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Sandy Shullaw and Dixie Magee.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am Saturday at Sinnott Pierschbacher Funeral Home in Albia; with Rev. Lois Williams officiating. Burial with military rites conducted by the American Legion of Albia, Lovilla and Melrose will follow in Bellefountaine Cemetery in Tracy. Visitation will begin at 2 pm today at the funeral home in Albia with the family present from 6-8 pm Memorials may be directed to the family.
