Ronald C. Shullaw, 72 of Doniphan, died Saturday, July 12, 2014 at Tiffany Square after a courageous four and a half year battle with Multiple Myeloma and Plasma Cell Leukemia.
Services will be 10 a.m. Thursday at All Faiths Funeral Home in Grand Island. Dan Naranjo will officiate.
Entombment will be in the Wyuka Cemetery at Lincoln at 3 p.m. Thursday with military honors provided by the U.S. Marine Corp. All Faiths Funeral Home is in charge of the
arrangements.
Mr. Shullaw was born April 17, 1942 at Ottumwa, IA the son of Richert and Edith (Nicoles) Shullaw.
Survivors of the immediate family include his wife, Norma; children, Jeff (Sherri) Shullaw of Minden, NE, Jennifer (Bill) Shullaw Lovejoy of Baltimore, MD and John Shullaw of Blair, NE; brothers, Jerry (Carol) Shullaw of Ottumwa, IA, David (Irene) Shullaw of Arkansas, KS, Art (Ellen) Shullaw of Crescent, IA and Mike (Jan) Shullaw of Lincoln, NE and sister, Nancy (Leo) Benal of Houston, IA.
Those also left to cherish his memory are grandchildren, Kayla Shullaw, Jordan Lovejoy, Jacob Lovejoy, McKenzie Shullaw, Connor Shullaw, Katie Shullaw, Macaullay Shullaw, Johnny Shullaw, Matthew and Tylor Lutz and very special companion, Mr. Wilson.
He is preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Lonne and Ray and two sisters, Dixie and Sandy and special niece, Joy Taylor.
Ron was raised and received his education in Ottumwa, IA. He served in the United States Marine Corp from 1959-1963. On July 17, 1965 he was united in marriage to Norma McCown. They lived in Lincoln before moving to Grand Island in 1971. Ron was a Financial Advisor with Mutual of Omaha for 46 years. The Ron and Norma Shullaw Annual Leadership Award was established in 2012 by Mutual of Omaha in their honor.
He is a member of National Life Underwriters, American Legion, Elks and the Saddle Club.
