Ben H. Kolb, retired farmer, died last night at his home on the Schumate Chapel road. He was 74 years old and his death came on the 50th anniversary of his marriage. Kolb had been ill of heart disease for a year but had been bedfast only two weeks.

He was born at Taos May 31, 1867 and was married to Miss Louis Schuller at St. Thomas 50 years ago yesterday.

He was a member of St. Peter's church and the married men's sodality.

He is survived by his wife and the following children: Herman, Thomas, Steve, Sam, all of Jefferson City, William of Marshall, Mrs. Ben Stegeman, Rockford, Ill., Mrs. Frank Markway, Jefferson City, Mrs. Leo Box, Meta, Mrs. Victor Renn, Kansas City, Mrs. Gilbert Larison, Calhoun, Mrs. Fred Spohrer, Houston, Tex., and Mrs. Oakley Van Buskirk of Marshall. Two brothers, Clem of Jefferson City and Antone of Wardsville and a sister, Mrs. Joseph Wekenborg of St. Thomas and 32 grandchildren and three great grandchildren also survive.
