Mrs. Julia F. Ford, aged eighty-four years, widow of E.R. Ford, who was for many years a prominent merchant of this place, died at her home Tuesday morning. She was the maternal grandmother of Captain Joseph E. Willard, being the mother of Miss Antonia Ford, who became the wife of Major J.C. Willard during the Civil War. One of her sons, Mr. F.R. Ford, survives her. The late Mr. Clarence C. Ford, another son, father of Mr. G. Vernon Ford, the present commonwealth's attorney for this county, was during Grant's administration Consul to San Salvador and for a short time during Cleveland's first administration was acting Consul General to Havana. Another son, Mr. Charles Ford, a soldier in the Confederate Army, was killed during the War.

Mrs. Ford had been in ill health for many years. The funeral service was conducted at the house Wednesday morning by Rev. C.K. Millican, after which the remains were taken to Washington for interment.
