Died
Suddenly, of paralysis, on Sunday morning, November 26, 1871, at his residence, at Fairfax Court House, Virginia, E.R. Ford Esq., in the 58th year of his age. By the death of Mr. Ford there has passed away from earthly scenes one of the noblest works of God, for, in very truth, he was an honest man. A leading and successful merchant for a period of thirty years, he had acquired a character for justice and integrity rarely equaled and never surpassed by any man. He was a consistent Christian, an affectionate husband, a kind and indulgent parent and a true and steadfast friend. His loss will be widely felt and sincerely mourned.
