In March 1943, he married a young lady from Kansas named Wilma. Then on 5 Nov 1950 in Japan he married Utaka Satamoto (Mary L) and they had a daughter, Betty Utako, who has a daughter, April Self.
Preceding his death are his parents, a brother Johnny Deloss Barton,a son-in-law, Mr. Self, a niece, Annette Barton,a nephew, Daniel Perry and a brother-in-law, George Stanley "Stan" Perry.
