Carrie Elizabeth Rothrock (went by Lizzie) was the third of twelve known children of James E. Rothrock (1860-1941) and Sophia "Sophie" Ellen Smeal (1866-1947), who married 13 Apr 1884 at Curwensville, Clearfield County, Pennsylvania.

Lizzie first married Edward Knepp (1888-1907) on 01 May 1907 at Clearfield County, Pennsylvania. Lizzie and Edward were the parents of one known child, namely:

1. James Edward Knepp (1907-1935)

After Edward died, Lizzie remarried to James Willard Strange (1888-1963) in c1910 in presumably Pennsylvania. Lizzie and James were the parents of four known children, namely:

2. Virginia Evelyn Strange Gette (1910-2006)
3. Helen Mae Strange Treleven (1912-1972)
4. Harold Leo Strange (1914-1995)
5. William Walton Strange (1926-1989)

Mrs. James Willard Strange

Morrisdale - Mrs. Carrie Elizabeth "Lizzie" Strange, 75, a life-long resident of Morrisdale, died at 1:50 a.m. today in the Clearfield Hospital. She had been ill for the past two months.

A daughter of James and Sophia (Smeal) Rothrock, she was born at Morrisdale R. D. June 17, 1888. She was married to James Willard Strange who died in May 1963.
The following children survive: Mrs. Claude (Virginia) Gette, Harold, and William, all of Morrisdale; Mrs. Thomas (Helen) Treleven, East Liverpool, Ohio. A son, Edward, preceded her in death.

Three grandchildren and the following brothers and sisters also survive: Mrs. Annie Waple, Bigler; Mrs. Bessie Hummel, Morrisdale; Mrs. Robie Peters and Mrs. Esther Maurer, Woodland; Walter, Lloyd, and Jess Rothrock, all of Morrisdale R. D.
Mrs. Strange was a member of the Morrisdale Methodist Church and of the Women's Society of Christian Service.

Friends will be received form 7:30 p.m. this evening until 2 p.m. Thursday at the William W. Strange Home for Funerals. Services will be conducted at the latter time by the Rev. Francis Geiger. Interment will be in the Grandview Cemetery at Morrisdale.
