Jesse Russell Rothrock was youngest of twelve known children of James E. Rothrock (1860-1941) and Sophia Ellen Smeal (1866-1947), who married 13 Apr 1884 at Curwensville, Clearfield County, Pennsylvania.

Jesse married Dorothy D. Smeal (1910-2003) in c1927 at presumably Pennsylvania. Jesse and Dorothy were the parents of ten known children, namely:

1. Dolores D. Rothrock Sklar (1928-1999)
2. Althea Irene Rothrock (1930-1930)*
3. Betty Jane Rothrock Thompson (1930-2011)
4. James Russell Rothrock (1932-1993)
5. Isaac J. Rothrock (1933-2012)
6. Edward Wayne Rothrock (1834-2015)
7. living daughter Rothrock Schmauck (1936-living)
8. baby girl Rothrock (1939-1939)
9. Charles William Rothrock (1941-1941)
10. May Rothrock (1943-1943)

The Progress, Clearfield, Pa., Saturday, January 26, 1974 - MORRISDALE — Jesse Russell Rothrock, 64, of Morrisdale R. D., died at 9:50 p. m. Friday at the Philipsburg State General Hospital. Born at Morrisdale R. D. June 25, 1909, he was the son of James and Sophia (Smeal) Rothrock. He was married to the former Dorothy Smeal who survives with the following children: James R. of Morrisdale R. D., Isaac J. of Camp Hill, Edward of Philipsburg, Mrs. George (Dolores D.) Sklar of Madera, Mrs. William (Betty J.) Thompson of New Cumberland and Mrs. Charles (Hazel E.) Schmauch of Wormleysburg. These brothers and sisters also survive: Lloyd of Morrisdale R. D. and Mrs. Roberta Peters and Mrs. Esther Maurer, both of Woodland. Twelve grandchildren also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, six sisters and two infant children. He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the Pacific Area. He was of the Methodist faith and was a member of the LeContes Mills Sportsmen's Association. He was a retired employee of the Department of Transportation. Friends will be received at the Strange and Weaver Home for Funerals from 2 p.m. Sunday until time of services at 3:30 p. m. Monday from the chapel of the funeral home. The Rev. Homer Smith will officiate and interment will be in the Summit Hill Cemetery. Military graveside services will be conducted.
