MSgt, E7, 165th Ga Air National Guard, Retired, Henry Phshonner Bright - SAVANNAH - MSgt, E7, 165th Ga Air National Guard, Retired, Henry Phshonner Bright, 82, of Savannah, died Friday, Sept. 20, 2012 at Hospice Savannah, Inc., surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Glenwood, Ga., and was preceded in death by his parents, Della Mae Ryals Bright and Noah Albert Bright, Sr., and his great grandson, Joseph Hagan Howell, Jr. He was a veteran having served in the Korean Conflict in the US Air Force, and then joined the 165 Air Lift Wing, of the Ga Air National Guard, where he retired after 37 years of service, and served 25 years as a Fire Protector with the 165th ANG.. He was a member of Bull Street Baptist Church, where he was honored by the Church, as Deacon Emeritus, a member of the Nelson Sunday School Class, Church Training Department and many other Committees at the Church. He was also an avid golfer, and a member of the Senior Gold Blitz at the Bacon Park Golf Club. He was a member of the Constructors for Christ, and was presented a Plaque from Savannah Christian School, for all his time and effort as Scorekeeper, Bus Driver, Spectator and Friend (1972-1989). He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Norton Bright, of Savannah, Ga; 2 daughters, Cynthia Bright Shuman (Larry) of Ellabell, Ga; and Janet Bright DeLoach, of Savannah, Ga; 3 brothers, N. A. Bright, Jr., Savannah, Ga., Raymond E. Bright, Marietta, Ga., and Wade D. Bright (Dora), of Stockbridge, Ga; a sister, Mrs. Dean Bright Smith (Burien); of Glenwood, Ga; 4 grandchildren, Christina Cooler Howell (Joseph), Jennifer DeLoach Claxton (Blake), Jessica DeLoach Kessler (Beau), and Jamee Renee DeLoach; 4 great grandchildren, Brandon Hagin Howell; Christopher Joseph Howell, Ryan Matthew Howell, and Ashley Dianne Claxton. Visitation: 2-5 p.m. Sunday at Fairhaven Funeral Home - Hubert C. Baker Chapel, 7415 Hodgson Memorial Drive, Savannah, Ga 31406. Funeral Services: 11 a.m. Monday, Sept. 24, 2012 in the Hubert C. Baker Chapel, with Rev. Calvin Fowler and Rev. Earnie Pirkle, officiating. Interment: Hillcrest Abbey Memorial Park. Active pallbearers: Jimmie Hart, James Bearden, Robert Bearden, John Willoughby, Jr., Ronald Willoughby, Stacey Bright,, Kevin Bright, and Russell Bright. Honorary pallbearers: The Board of Deacons of Bull Street Baptist Church, the Nelson Sunday School Class, and members of the 165th Georgia Air National Guard.
