Mr. Cottingham was born June 28, 1907 in Rush County to Robert and Elizabeth Adams Cottingham. He came to Anderson from Seymour in 1931, and had resided here since that time, and was employed as a carpenter for the Lewis Construction Company.
He was a member of the Park Place Methodist Church and the Carpenter's Union.
Survivors include his widow, Margaret Dell; a daughter, Miss Elsie Cottingham; his mother of Seymour; three sisters, Mrs. Mary Johnson, Mrs. Ida Ackerel, and Mrs. Fay Hirtzel, all of Seymour; two brothers, Adrian Cottingham of Crothersville, and Everett Cottingham of Forest, Ill.; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at the Rozelle Funeral Home with the Rev. Gene Smith, pastor of the Park Place Methodist Church, in charge. Burial will be in East Maplewood Cemetery.
Friends will be received after 2 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
