Mrs. Cottingham, 93, Dies Sunday

Mrs. Sarah Elizabeth Cottingham, 92, of 834 North Elim Street, died at 11 am Sunday at the home of her granddaughter Mrs. Billy Deaton.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 pm Tuesday from the Arlington Christian Church in Arlington, IN with the Rev Howard Mountcastle, pastor, in charge. Burial at East Hill Cemetery in Arlington.

Friends may call at anytime at the Burkholder Funeral Home here until 9 am Tuesday, and from noon Tuesday until the service time at the Arlington Christian Church.

Mrs. Cottingham was born on August 1, 1873 in Rush County, the daughter of the late Jacob and Agnes Porter Adams. She was married in 1897 to Robert Franklin Cottingham, who preceded her in death in May 1940.

Mrs. Cottingham, a member of the Arlington Christian Church, had lived in Jackson County for 20 years.

Survivors include 2 sons, Adrian N Cottingham, Crothersville, Everett F Cottingham, Forrest, IL; two daughters, Mrs Mary A Johnson, Paris Crossing, Mrs Ida Ackeret, Seymour; 15 grandchildren and 44 great-grandchildren, A son, a daughter, two brothers, and a sister preceded her in death.

Widow dies at Age 93

Funeral services were held Tuesday, March 7, for Mrs. Sara Elizabeth Cottingham, 93, Seymour, from the Christian Church at Arlington. Interment was made at the East Hill Cemetery there.
Mrs. Cottingham passed away late Sunday morning at the home of a granddaughter, Mrs. Frank R. Lucas of Bedford RR6.

Born Aug 1, 1873 in Rush County, Mrs. Cottingham was a daughter of the late Jacob and Agnes Porter Adams. She was the widow of Robert Franklin Cottingham, who preceded her in death in 1940.

Surviving are two sons, Adrian N. Cottingham of Crothersville RR2, and Everett F. Cottingham of Forrest, ILL; two daughters, Mrs. Mary A. Johnson of Paris Crossing RR1 and Mrs. Ida M. Ackeret of Seymour RR2, 15 grandchildren and 44 great grandchildren.
