GREEN COUNTY KENTUCKY OBITUARY – 1996
Mrs. Nettie Melissa Hatcher Cox, daughter of the late Mr. Creed H. Hatcher & Melissa Clark Hatcher, was born August 10, 1908, in Green County and departed this life on Monday, December 9, 1996, at the Jane Todd Crawford Memorial Hospital in Greensburg. She was 88 years, 3 months and 29 days of age. She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Ebenezer Presbyterian Church. She also served as Sunday school teacher for many years. She united in marriage to Mr. Wilson Samuel Cox on December 24, 1931, who preceded her in death on September 4, 1991. She is survived by: 1 son and 1 daughter, Joyce Rattliff & Sammy Cox, both of Greensburg. She was preceded in death by: 1 daughter, Imogene Cox on January 26, 1933. She is also survived by a son-in-law and a daughter-in-law: J.W. Rattliff Jr. and Sue Conner Cox, both of Greensburg; 4 grandchildren: John Rattliff of North Carolina, Jason Rattliff of Greensburg, Ashley Melissa Cox of Greensburg, and Lucas Cox of Greensburg; 2 step-grandchildren: Troy Kessler of Greensburg and Brandon Kessler of Lexington; and a host of other relatives and friends. The funeral services for Nettie Melissa Hatcher Cox were conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday, December 11, at the Cowherd & Parrott Funeral Home with burial in the Ebenezer Cemetery. Rev. Kevin Morris officiated. Pallbearers were Walker Paxton, Howard Moore, Boyce Hudson, Maurice Givens, Willard Mitchell and David Givens.
