As we go to press we learn of the death of Mrs. C.H. Hatcher who died at 2:00 p.m. Thurs. afternoon at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Lionel Clark at Exie. Funeral arrangements have not been made at this time.
GREENSBURG RECORD HERALD OBITUARY – 07/04/1952
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sat. at Ebenezer Presbyterian Church for Mrs. Malissa Ellen Hatcher who died June 26 at the home of her daughter, near Exie. Rev. V.A. Jones was in charge of the services, assisted by Rev. W.R. Read and Rev. C.D. Owen. Burial was in the church cemetery. The daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Tom Clark, she was born in Green Co., Oct. 16, 1865 and died at the age of 86 years. She was a member of the Roachville Methodist Church. She united in marriage to Mr. Creed H. Hatcher 65 years ago and to this union 3 sons and 5 daughters were born. Her husband preceded her in death Sep. 15, 1945. Surviving are: Mrs. Owen Rucker, Mrs. Emma Clark, Mrs. Wilson Cox, all of Greensburg; Mr. J.F. Hatcher, Scottsburg, Indiana; and 13 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were Wayne Moran, Avery Gains, James Hatcher, Owen Hatcher, Jim Bridgewater and Leslie Buchanan.
