Mr. Cornell was born Sept. 7, 1914, in Fairfield, Iowa, to Sylvenus and Aletha (Carr) Cornell.
He married his wife, Helen, on Oct. 17, 1936, in Ottumwa, Iowa.
He worked in the shipyards in Long Beach, Calif., during World War II.
He also worked for Bowers Pottery and as a divider/slicer for Log Cabin/Blue Seal Bakery in Los Angeles until retiring in 1976.
In 1997 he moved to Nevada and, in 1999, to Klamath Falls.
Mr. Cornell loved music and played many musical instruments. He enjoyed woodworking and could always be heard whistling.
Survivors include his wife, Helen Cornell of Klamath Falls; sons and daughters-in-law, Darryl and Pat Cornell of Klamath Falls and Dan and Linda Cornell of Lake Havasu City, Ariz.; daughters, Beth of Henderson, Nev., and Linda of Placentia, Calif.; grandchildren, Lori, Cheryl, Eric and Angelica of Klamath Falls, Holly, April and Leanna of California, Richard of Nevada, John and Theresa of Arizona, and Darryl of Hawaii; and eight great-grandchildren.
