OBITUARIES
Lucille Cornell Lyons
Lucille Cornell Lyons, 85, Route 2, died at 9:24 p.m. Tuesday, March 10, 1992, at Jefferson County Hospital.
The service will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at First Lutheran Church with the Rev. John Meyer officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Lawn Cemetery. Family visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. Friday at Behner Funeral Home. A memorial has been established to First Lutheran Church.
Mrs. Lyons was born July 23, 1906, in Fairfield, the daughter of Sylvenus and Altha Corr Cornell. She married Dale W. Lyons on Jan. 30, 1926, in Fairfield. She was a homemaker, a member of First Lutheran Church and the Dorcas Group.
Surviving are her husband; two daughters, Thelma L. Duker of Las Vegas, Nev.; Betty J. Gray of Fairfield; two sons, Bill D. of Fairfield; Richard L. of Bettendorf; 26 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Harold Cornell of Anaheim, Calif.; eight sisters, Irene Christie of San Dimas, Calif.; Mary Murray of Ten Mile, Tenn.; Nellie Anderson of Glendale, Calif.; Doris Mealy of Allyn, Wash.; Ruth Hall, Laura McElroy, both of Ottumwa, Gladys Jones and Esther Green, both of Fairfield. A brother, George and a sister, Virgie Ware, preceded her in death.
