He was born in Wirt County, a son of Harry and Ruth Baker Hupp, of Palestine.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by hia widow, Mrs. Irene Shannon Hupp; a son Charles H. Hupp, at home; three brothers, Chester, Canton, Donzil and Harold Hupp, Akron; two sisters, Mrs. Dorothy Jackson, Somerset, Pa., and Deloris Nemeth, Akron.
Funeral services were held at the Palestine Baptist Church with the rev. S. A. Scott and the Rev. K. T. Boars officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.
