Mr. George W. Garner, 83, died Saturday, February 3, at his home at Oak Hill. He had been in declining health for several years. Mr. Garner was born June 29, 1856, and was the son of the late George W. and Mary Watson Garner. He resided most of his life at Faubush, was a successful farmer and one of the most highly respected citizens of Pulaski County. Mr. Garner's word was his bond, and he had an enviable reputation for honesty and fair dealings. He was married to Miss Mattie Elizabeth Myers, April 11, 1886, and to this union were born 7 children, all of whom survive. He was a member of the Baptist Church for 48 years. Funeral services were held Monday at the West Somerset Baptist Church with interment taking place in the cemetery at West Somerset. The surviving children are as follows: Mrs. Electa Richardson, of Townsend, Montana, Oscar Garner, Earl Garner, Mrs. Annice Clark, Mrs. Olive Tucker, all of Somerset, Mrs. Alma Wilson, Ingle, and Mrs. Sallie Pyles, Nancy. Sympathy is extended members of the family in their bereavement.
