"J. A. HONEY DIES-J. A. Honey, 66 years of age, died at the Murphy Memorial hospital in Whittier Wednesday night after an illness of about six weeks' duration. Mr. Honey had made his home at First and Hiatt streets.
Mr. Honey is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Earl Haseltine and Mrs. Oscar Monday of La Habra, another daughter in Oklahoma and a son in Missouri. He was an uncle of James Showler of La Habra. Funeral arrangements have not been completed pending the arrival of the children from the east."

"Obituary James A. Honey, James A. Honey was born at Stoutland, Mo., December 8, 1871 and died at Whittier, July 14, 1937. He was married to Miss Jennie B. Elliott in 1891 and ten children were born to them. Five have passed away. Those surviving are Mrs. H. O. Monday and Mrs. Earl Haseltine of La Habra, Garrett Honey of Cuba, Mo., Mrs. Mark Camp of Seminole, Okla., and Herman Honey of Whittier. All were present at the funeral with their mother. In addition a brother at Stoutland and a host of other relatives and friends are left to mourn.
The funeral services were held on Monday at the Missionary Baptist church with Pastor Silas Hill in charge. Music was furnished by Jack Haner, E. J. Burk, Mrs. Delberry Hall and Mrs. Feltcamp."
