FELICIA WILMET BRIQUELET

Felicia Wilmet was the oldest daughter of Toussaint Wilmet and his wife, Maria Teresa Noel. She was married 6 Nov. 1883, Brown Co., WI to Joseph Briquelet, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Briquelet.

Felicia and Joseph had five daughters born in Brown Co., WI:

Agnes Ellen b. 1884; Emma b. abt. 1887; Josephine b. 14 Oct. 1889, Allouez; Viola Mary b. 12 Sept. 1891, Green Bay; Lucy Mary Rosa b. 14 Oct. 1893, Green Bay.

There was an epidemic of Small Pox in the Green Bay area in 1894, and Felicia was infected with the usually fatal disease. She and other patients were isolated at the pest house in Allouez to prevent infecting others. She died there sometime between May 6 and May 21, 1894 and the death record of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church reads: "Died from Small Pox; buried at midnight by order of the Board of Health, without a priest in attendance."

Her husband, Joseph Briquelet, remarried 11 July 1894, Brown Co., WI, to Lydia Joubert, and had several children with her.

In 1900, Felicia's daughter, Agnes was listed with Sisters of Good Shepherd, Green Bay, WI; Josephine, Viola and Lucy were listed with their grandparents, Toussaint and Teresa Wilmet in Allouez, WI. In 1905, Viola and Lucy Briquelet were living with their Wilmet grandparents.
