Alma M. (Beckort) Crosley was born Dec. 1, 1912, in Poplar Bluff, Mo., and had lived in Lafayette, Ind., and Rockport, Ind., before moving to Lorain County in 1946. She moved to Elyria in 1965. Mrs. Crosley was a 1931 graduate of Rockport High School. She was employed as a short order cook for various restaurants. She worked for approximately 20 years with the former Tudy's Restaurant, retiring in 1974. She enjoyed crocheting, fishing, and gardening. Survivors include her daughter Elsa Marie "Cindy" Crosley of Elyria; one grandson and one great-grandson; brother William A. Beckort of Rockport; and sisters Mazel Beckort and Rosie Lee Beckort, both of Rockport. She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Wyman L. "Blackie" Crosley in 1993; son George Crosley; brothers John and Herman Beckort; sisters Maggie Peckenpaugh, Clara Beckort and Helen Ewin; and parents Charles and Katie (nee Gebhard) Beckort. Friends may call Thursday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., at Dicken Funeral Home, 323 Middle Ave., Elyria, where funeral services will be Friday at 11 a.m. The Rev. James L. Gordon, pastor of Elyria Baptist Church, will officiate. Burial will follow in Resthaven Memory Gardens, Avon.
