From the February 22, 1923 Skidmore News, page 1:
"Jeff Skidmore
Jefferson Skidmore was born in Hamilton County, Ohio, May 4, 1850, died at his sister, Mrs. William Bodle, February 15, 1923. Age 72 years, 10 months and 11 days.

He was married to Miss Bell Coston March 15, 1878, and to this union three children were born, Willie, Dottie and Nettie, all of who preceded their mother to the great Beyond.

Mr. Skidmore is survived by two brothers, James, of Skidmore, Mo., Allen, of Virginia, Nebr. Mrs. Mariah Bender and Mrs. William Bodle, both of Skidmore, Mo., and host of friends.

Services were held at the home of William Bodle Friday, February 16, 1923, at 2 p.m., conducted by Rev. G. W. Trotter. Burial was in the Masonic cemetery.

We desire to thank our many kind friends for their help through the sickness and death of our beloved brother. Also for the beautiful floral offerings. Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Bodle and family."
